What made you decide to get into
scrapbooking? Why do you scrapbook? More often than not, many women get into
scrapbooking to capture a significant event in their life such as getting
married or having a baby. Me? I’m a scrapper from waaaay back… long
before I got married or had kids. I was sticking down any photo, memorabilia,
sticker, coaster, or wrapper I could get my little hands on into those old-school
magnetic photo albums ever since I was a kid. So, I am often asked, “What?
You don’t have any kids? Well, what do you scrapbook?” Well, life
happens and I scrap it. I scrapbook about my husband and our trips, my friends,
and special events… and in about 6 months, I will have another subject to
scrapbook about...
I am 14 weeks along and feeling great. And
yes, this will be our first baby. So many things to journal and scrap about
these days… How did we find out? What was our first OB
visit and ultrasound like? How did we tell our moms…especially my mom,
who will be a first-time grandma! Along with this life-changing event… so
many things to do before the baby comes… home improvement projects, baby
proofing, putting together a nursery, oh and shopping and baby showers…YAY!
And oh yeah… re-organizing that darn craft room! Something I will try to tackle this weekend.
So far, 2009 has been filled with many special
events for me. Lytle Scrapper
celebrated its 1 year anniversary with a successful Weekend Retreat thanks to
amazing networking opportunities at CHA. I became a Copic Certified Designer
and have been invited to participate in several demonstrations and crafting
events. My husband and I recently celebrated our 4th wedding
anniversary, his 41st and my 31st birthdays. Getting
pregnant and celebrating the news with family and friends. Life happens…
And there is still so much to look forward
to this year. My mom will retire in July and is uber excited about her new
career as a grandma. Here’s one that I am really excited about… after
3 years of trying to get into the lottery for Heidi Swapp’s Creative
Escape, I will finally get to go this year! YAY! Did I mention new home
projects, a new nursery, and a new craft room? And come November, a new lytle
addition to our family.
So what does all of this mean to all of you
who have helped Lytle Scrapper become
what it is today? More technique-driven classes, Copics, TLC’s,
tutorials/videos. Quarterly project-driven (mini-albums, etc.) classes. Sadly,
no Summer Weekend Retreat this year but you can bet your bottom dollar there
will be another Winter Weekend Retreat in early 2010 after the baby has
arrived! And lastly, with so much going on, I will have to give something up. I
will be placing my last Close to my Heart order at the end of June. So if you
would like to place an order or see a copy of the NEW Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog,
email me. In the meantime, I will be looking for someone who would like to
replace me… (anyone interested?) so more to come on that.
So, sometimes life happens and you just have
to sit back and scrap it! I hope you are all having a great time scrapping your
life happenings!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so excited for you and Tuan!!!
